Open for less than a week in the Tysons Corner Ritz Carlton, renowned Chef Michel Richard (at left with Lisa Shapiro and Kelly Collis) held an intimate preview of his newest restaurant concept, Michel, over the weekend.

The modern French restaurant that Richard playfully describes as “the bistro version of Citronelle,” is his latest in a series of culinary endeavors in the Washington region, offering witty presentations of the unexpected — like tator tots topped with caviar.

“The white hats, aprons, and all of the food – I fell in love,” Richard described about seeing a restaurant kitchen for the first time at age eight, when he decided on his future career, a restaurant empire that now extends beyond the Beltway.

“Diners in this area are eager to try new dishes, experience new tastes… have memorable dining choices, and I intend to more than live up to those expectations.”
