Joe Yonan Serves Singles

Celebrating the recent publication of his book, “Serve Yourself: Nightly Adventures in Cooking for One,” Washington Post Food and Travel Editor Joe Yonan made a special appearance at Cities Restaurant & Lounge last night to share cooking tips, autograph books, and help raise money for his beloved FRESHFARM Markets.
Monetary donations went toward supporting the group that makes six DC farmer’s markets (including at the White House and Dupont Circle—Joe’s go-to’s, according to FRESHFARM director Ann Yonkers, with Yonan below left) possible.
A fun twist?  In a nod to Joe’s belief that cooking for one can be liberating, it was a singles event! Culinary-minded singles mingled over cocktails from Square One Organic Vodka and Honest Tea and hors d’oeuvres made from market-sourced ingredients.
As Virginia Woolf said, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
