Jamie Fox, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Channing Tatum Attend DC Premiere of White House Down

The MOMs held a DC premiere of White House Down Friday evening at Georgetown’s AMC Loews theatre, complete with appearance by the films major stars.

“I was playing a slave about a year ago, so I was happy to get out of the chains and get into the White House… Slave work is cool.  Running the country is a whole lot better,” laughed Jamie Fox at Friday’s DC premiere of the new movie White House Down, featuring himself, Maggie Gyllenhaal and ChanningFoxx_S&R Tatum.

A special screening of the film was offered to a theatre-full of “moms” by The MOMs (on HLN) — Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein — after a pre-show reception at the nearby Mate lounge, co-sponsored by Equinox gym.

“I thought, ‘Are we going to blow up the White House at this time in the world?'” Tatum_S&R2said Tatum just before the reel started rolling, as each actor/actress explained his or her thoughts on signing up for the project, and some of their experiences during filming (see video).

The hundreds of moms in attendance certainly seemed ok with it.  Amid sighs — and shrieks — as the celebrities left the theatre, one attendee said aloud, “I’d be ok with just about anything as long as I get to watch Channing Tatum, shirtless, and saving the world!”
