Inside Dress for Success’ 10th Anniversary Luncheon

Some of D.C.’s most successful women dressed for a celebratory luncheon when the Hotel Palomar played host to a 10th Anniversary afternoon honoring the Washington DC chapter of Dress for Success and the more than 650,000 women served by the organization, which provides suits and job training to underprivileged women seeking to enter the workforce.

Shawn Yancy of Fox 5 News acted as Mistress of Ceremonies, as Executive Director, Megan Goffney presented awards to Ernst & Young, WalMart, and ten outstanding volunteers for their support of Dress for Success’ mission. Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu addressed the crowd of nearly 200 guests–some who had been helped by the organization–about the importance of supporting women in the pursuit of employment and its overarching reach in the nation’s progress and future standard of living.

Guests were invited to mix, mingle, and bid on silent auction items–many provided by Kimpton Hotels–and celebrate the continued success of Dress.
