Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. In a rush with local female rapper RAtheMC

Relatively unknown just a year ago, local RAtheMC has had a rush to become one of the most serious females on the rap scene.  With a video on rotation on VH1, a Sprite commercial with Drake and now releasing her second album “Heart of a Champion,” RAtheMC is not only one to watch, but one to really listen to.

K Street Kate caught up with RAtheMC at her album launch Tuesday night at Recess lounge, where she talked about her dreams, lauded being a female rapper, and admitted she’s got a bit of a thing for Lauryn Hill (in town this weekend): “Performing with her would be the epitome of every dream that I have.”
