Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

I love how Hottie Milinda always thinks of me… Today she calls me with this great idea: USA Cheerleading! While I’m not sure I’m prepped to recreate my days of ponytails and pompoms (really it’s so much more of a sport than that!), I did want to share the opportunity for try-outs with anyone else that might be interested. Sounds fun and like there could be future fame (the team was recently featured on the Rachel Ray show)!!

The USA Cheerleaders are a professional appearance/performance based promotional team, that travels the United States *and abroad* to perform at various events year round. They are a highly talented, energetic and attractive group of over 50 young men and women. And they are holding auditions next month for ALL types of performers – former NFL / NBA cheerleaders, models, former pageant queens, singers, dancers, tumblers, etc.
Could at the very least be a fun way to learn some new dance moves??

March 15th, Gold’s Gym (6324 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, MD). Registration starts at 2:00.
