Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Hanami: The Flower Viewing

Artist Don Patron and friends welcomed art lovers to a Hanami (Flower Viewing) at L2 Lounge last Thursday evening for a showcase of talents and cherry blossom cheer.

Of all different styles, the works on display around the lounge were made by a variety of creatives who joined Patron at the FDR Memorial Tidal Basin during the recent Cherry Blossom Festival.

“We are all just looking for a way to use what we have to do our part,” said Patron, who has organized similar art events to benefit various charities.

Guests paid tribute to the local artistic talent while making donations in support of the continuing relief efforts after the devastating Japan Tsunami.
