Girls, Inc: Setting the Bar at Bold

It was a Girls’ Night Out last Thursday at the Four Seasons. But instead of sipping on cosmos and spilling details of their latest crushes, these girls were on a mission to change thier lives.
Girls, Inc., founded just four years ago as an offshoot of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, has already reached over 650 girls in the DC community, and last week celebrated its establishment of a thriving after school center at Howard University, DC’s first all-girls Robotics Team, and SHE-E-O, a career and networking program to introduce girls to mentors in their career field.
Young area participants, such as presentation speakers Najya Williams and Afia Tyus were on on hand to share their stories as supporters and donors – some guys got in on the GNO, too! – enjoyed the evening’s dinner and silent auction entertainment.
