Last week (2.11.15), CharityChicks US, a group of DC’s young professional philanthropic-minded socials, hosted a fundraiser at the new Georgetown Alice & Olivia store to benefit Cycle for Survival. Guests were given private access to the new Spring 2015 collection, greeted with champagne, and offered one-on-one style sessions on topics like incorporating bright pops of color and creating chic black and white ensembles.
The event was hosted by Elizabeth Kane, President of CharityChicks US, and attendees included the likes of global political engagement guru Frances Holuba, the United Nations Foundation’s Anastasia Dellaccio, Fashion Dot Now’s Beth Adams Mishoe, Dream For Kids’s Glenda Fu, Fashion Washington Scene Editor Rebecca Trosset, philanthropist Stephanie Fischer, and CharityChicks’ Jennifer Pierotti, Taylor Kate Elkow, Sarah Cathryn Bryant, Emily Gottschalk and Rachel Hallinan.
Their fourth year participating in Cycle For Survival as a team, the group, is helping the national movement to help cure rare cancer, with all of the Cycle for Survival event (March 1, 2105 at Equinox in Bethesda) money raised directly benefitting Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Alice and Olivia closed their doors for this VIP shopping fundraiser, donating 20% of net sales from the event to Team CharityChicks US, which boasted raising nearly $2,000 that evening for its efforts.
