Filson Opens in DC

The manufacturer and outfitter, C.C. Filson Co., will open the doors to the company’s eighth national brick-and-mortar in Washington, DC tomorrow!

The approximately 1,200 square-foot Filson store will be located in the 14th Street corridor between Q and Church Street, occupying the former space of Shinola, also owned by parent company Bedrock Manufacturing. The durable, American made line will be housed in a space evocative of a timeless, pioneer spirit.

“We are thrilled to open in Washington,” said Filson President Gray Madden. “DC is one of the most active cities in the nation. We like to say we manufacture products for those who refuse to stay indoors, and that’s certainly the people in our District.”

In 1897, C.C. Filson began outfitting prospectors headed for the Klondike Gold Rush with apparel and goods durable enough to contend with the toughest environments on earth. Today, Filson is a global manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer constantly developing new products to serve those who refuse to stay indoors. With company headquarters located above its factory in Seattle, WA, Filson remains committed to producing unfailing goods that live up to its founder’s vision. Filson has created jobs and cultivated the made in America spirit with the majority of its manufacturing happening in the Pacific Northwest.

The store will offer a variety of signature luggage, leather accessories, apparel, watches and iconic outerwear such as the Mackinaw Wool Cruiser, Tin Cloth Jacket, and Angler Shirt for outdoor adventurers and explorers alike.
