This holiday season, #GALASIX headed tp Josephine Butler Parks Center, an historic mansion across from Meridian Hill Park, for its 6th annual evening of holiday cheer. Hundreds of young professionals danced, dined and drank the night away to benefit Horton’s Kids.
This year’s event included local whiskey tasting from local favorites and vast dance floor with several inflatable animals in attendance. (Yes, you read that right.)
Yet, while expansive, the venue allowed for intimacy — mainly in side rooms, like the one that featured the soothing sounds of live musician, James Ian. This side room, entitled “The Hush Hush Room,” gave guests the opportunity to leave notes for other gala attendees. Entertainingly, the notes captured the varied spirits of the soiree. We caught a peek of one that read: “My soul was weak in the knees when I saw you in that red dress.” And we loved the witty one that said: “Future ex-husband: I told you so.”
When guests weren’t exploring the treasures of the mansion or refreshing at the multiple open bars, many basked in the beautiful view from the heated patio.
Full of uniqueness and picturesque photo ops, The District Holiday Gala was a night to remember!
