Kate Michael

Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Fashion Club

Tonight there was a meeting of The. Fashion. Club. Actually it was a meeting of The Fashion Group International, a group that began over lunch in NYC in 1928 and has since become a professional organization for all interested and involved in careers in fashion with chapters all over the world.

Tonight’s event at Muleh was billed as an “authoritative overview of next season’s trends before they hit the stores,” with club participants and guests previewing Spring/Summer 2010 runway and ready-to-wear collections from NYC, Milan, Paris and London. The skinny-thing runway strut helped to whet an appetite… for Masa14’s (right next door!) catered fare as well as Muleh’s boutique merchandise discounted at a rare 20%.
