Exploration takes center stage at 2010 annual Wolf Trap Ball

Exploration was what really took center stage while statemen like Senator Pat Roberts, Congressman Frank Wolf and Governor Martin O’Malley dined on Nova Scotia lobster and a trio of maple desserts before dancing in the spotlight of the Filene Center Friday evening.

The 2010 annual Wolf Trap Ball was a celebration of Canada.  And why Canada?  “Why not Canada, eh?” joked Wolf Trap President and CEO Terre Jones (at left), explaining that the evening’s theme was a focus on unique ties to our northern neighbor, shared values and a cultural connection.  “We have so much to celebrate with Canada.”

Nearly 1,000 guests celebrated the National Park for the Performing Arts’ 39th annual Ball, raising money for its far-reaching arts and education programs.

“Next year is the 40th, so we’re looking to do something really big,” said Jones.  “Maybe we’ll celebrate all of the countries that have been a part of this – that would be really, really big.”

Something to explore.
