Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Sixth Annual FotoWeekDC Festival Opening Party- FotoWeekDC 2013 will host an exciting launch celebration at the National Geographic Museum on Friday, November 1st, from 7:30pm – 11pm.

The outdoor exhibition will premiere and feature award winning and curated work from FotoDC’s 2013 programs. There will be a book signing for the newly released National Geographic Dawn to Dark Photography: The Magic of Light. In addition, Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment, the exhibition’s companion book, will be available for sale.

The evening will also include monumental projects of selected works by local and international photographers and images from the “Women of Vision” exhibition. This ticketed event includes open bar, light food and music by Tropicalia & ESL (presenting a “Global Dancehall,” featuring DJ Underdog and Okayafrica and live music by See-I).
