Project Create’s 5th Annual Art Auction + Benefit

Project Create’s 5th Annual Art Auction + Benefit on May 16, 2013. The event features  curated artworks selected by Reyes + Davis Independent Exhibitions each for sale that night.  Guests will enjoy music by DJ Jahsonic, wine and hors d’oeuvres, as well a student exhibition.

Project Create provides accessible arts education to promote positive development in the lives of children experiencing homelessness and poverty. I have served on their board for just under a year. The Project Create Art Auction & Benefit is an exciting and unique opportunity to learn about the organization’s important work while enjoying art, hors d’oeuvres, and live music in the company of artists and art enthusiasts.

The auction, curated by Brigitte Reyes of Reyes + Davis Independent Exhibitions, features artwork donated by emerging, mid-career, and established artists representing various media including photography, works on paper, painting and sculpture.  Featured artists include: Sondra Arkin, Ines Barlerin, Carol Barsha, Barbara Bickley, Renee Butler, Billy Colbert, Donald Davidson, Georgia Deal, Andrew Faulkner, Freya Grand, Marta Luz Gutierrez, Linda Hesh, James Huckenpahler, Anne Marchand, Cristina Montero, Dennis O’Neil, Maryanne Pollack, Edward Riddell, E. Brady Robinson, William Schneider-White, and Lori Sturgess. All artwork is donated by the artists themselves or by the following collectors: Studio E Partners, Tim Christensen & Walter Ochinko, Juanita & Mel Hardy, Tracy & Gerardo Martinez, Jessica Racine-White, and Chris & Beverly With.

All auction proceeds benefit Project Create’s arts education and enrichment programs in Washington, D.C.
