Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Join Mayor Bowser for the Pride Walk and Rally (Capital Pride Celebration 2021)

About this event

Join in this Saturday, June 12, to walk, celebrate, march, be visible, and amplify the rich culture of Washington, DC’s most favorite parade, the Capital Pride Parade!

Participants will gather at Dupont Circle at noon and prepare to walk, run, bike, rollerblade, stroll, etc., to Freedom Plaza.

Depart at 12:30 PM

  • Head down P ST NW to Logan Circle.
  • From Logan Circle, we will head south on 13th ST and finish at Freedom Plaza for the Pride Rally. No motor vehicles will be permitted.

If anyone cannot meet at Dupont Circle, please depart from your own neighborhood and make your way down to Freedom Plaza by 2:00 pm.

There will be a rally with music at Freedom Plaza that will be followed by the first Pridemobile Parade at 3:00 pm.
