Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Oktoberfest is back and better than ever with a free one-day community festival in the heart of National Landing. On Saturday, October 1 from 12 to 4 PM join the National Landing BID for an afternoon of games, crisp German Lagers and a live performance by the Alte Kumpel Band. Food and drinks, including beer and cider, are available for purchase throughout the celebration. Registered guest’s first beer will come with a complimentary stein while supplies last. Guests can then show their steins at participating restaurants, including Crystal City Sports Pub, Freddie’s Beach Bar, Los Tios, Beauty Champagne & Sugar Boutique and Portofino for Oktoberfest-inspired food and drink specials.
