Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The Middle East Institute’s Arts and Culture Center is proud to feature Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass, currently starring in the Hulu television series Ramy and the HBO series Succession, in conversation with Emmy-nominated journalist and producer Rhana Natour on Friday, March 5 from 2pm-3pm ET.
Natour will be discussing the evolution of Abbass’ long and eclectic career in cinema, television and theater, her approach to the craft of acting, as well as how her cultural background informs her work.
The event marks the debut of Creators’ Corner, an interview series hosted by Natour, in collaboration with MEI. Creators’ Corner will feature conversations with leading Arab and Arab-American actors, comedians, directors, writers and other ground-breaking creators highlighting their important contributions to the global cultural scene.
