Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Join Studio E Partners and The Fairfax at Embassy Row Hotel as they welcome notable painter Ellen Sinel for a complimentary “Meet the Artist” reception on Thursday, June 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.Guests are invited to walk over to the private, members-only Cosmos Club where Sinel will provide a guided tour of her current exhibit, “Nature in Motion.” The Fairfax at Embassy Row Hotel will host a complimentary champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres following the tour.
Sinel is most known for her paintings of landscapes and natural settings. She often works with oils on canvas, paper or wood, creating imagery that is meant to capture the movements of nature in a moment in time. Sinel’s paintings have been inspired by landscapes from beautiful destinations including the Virginia countryside; Aspen, Colorado Mountains; the hills of Tuscany and Napa, California; and lower Cape Cod.
