Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The Junior League of Washington’s annual fundraising event, Holiday Shops at the Sphinx Club in downtown Washington, D.C., begins Thursday, November 20 through Sunday, November 23. The weekend-long event will offer general shopping hours, including 60 unique specialty boutiques from across the country, and special events, including a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from sponsors, patrons, a silent and live auction, a raffle, and a portion of merchant sales will benefit the mission of the JLW. Last year, the event raised nearly $140,000.

General Shopping tickets are $5 per day and can be purchased by cash or check at the door.
