Gay Day

Saturday, September 28 from 10am-5pm, with Director’s Reception from 5-7pm

Marjorie Merriweather Post’s flawless style of living and entertaining sets the scene when Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens unites with the GLBT community for this annual fall favorite. This year, Living Artfully, the special exhibition that answers the question most asked by visitors to Hillwood: “how did she do it,” is tapped for a day of discovering the era of Marjorie Post in the 1950s and 1960s and learning how her tastes, habits, style, and standards continue to inspire a gracious way of living today.

Gay Day 2013 is sponsored by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.

Presented each year since 2001 and supported by Hillwood’s GLBT Advisory Committee, the day begins with a morning Family Pancake Breakfast with Rainbow Families DC. Afternoon festivities include community performances, behind the scenes peeks into the collection, and a time for gathering with friends while enjoying refreshments and entertainment.

$15, $12 for seniors, $10 for Hillwood members and college students, free for children under age 18
