CELEBRATION: BODY OF WORK 2007-2013

Hernan Gigena was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After graduating as a graphic designer, he moved to Europe to continue his studies in 3D design, animation and multimedia. Hernan’s passion for art, design and visual communication brought him to the United States where he earned a Master degree in Art and Education from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Soon after moving to Washington, DC, Hernan’s innovative design approach found it’s voice within the international community including the Word Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank. While his contribution as a designer (multimedia/graphic) won him international recognition, it is his masking tape drawings and jewelry pieces that caught the attention of local art lovers and collectors.

During the past six years, Hernan’s energetic, colorful and whimsical work was displayed and celebrated in public and private collections such as at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Phillips Collection, the National Portrait Gallery, the World Bank Headquarters, the Renaissance Hotel, Fox NEWS, and the Washington Post. Also, his original pieces (drawings and Jewelry) can be found in private collectors’ collections from coast to coast in the US.
