Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Concert Celebrating the Garifuna Language with James Lovell 

Saturday, Feb. 25, 2 p.m. 

Visit the National Museum of the American Indian and enjoy a concert by James Lovell, a passionate Garifuna artist whose mission is to preserve the Garifuna culture, language and arts through music. He composes and translates songs that uplift and encourage younger generations to stay connected to the endangered Garifuna language, an Arawakan language spoken mainly in Honduras, Belize, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
