Adventure Theatre MTC’s rescheduled Annual Gala will be held at the Bethesda Ballroom, November 7 at 6:30pm with special guest Broadway & Film’s Liz Callaway (Baby, Miss Saigon, The Look of Love, 20th Century Fox’s Anastasia singing voice) and Emcee Guy Raz of NPR. This event is the major fundraiser for Adventure Theatre MTC each year and will be honoring Jon Talisman, the first Chair of the Board of Directors for the merged organization. Additionally, the gala will feature a performance by ATMTC’s Student Ensembles and Fund-A-Need with Auctioneer and former Washington Post columnist Bob Levey.
Adventure Theatre MTC formerly had its annual gala scheduled in Glen Echo Park for earlier in October, but was forced to reschedule due to the government shutdown. Featured performer Ashley Brown, Mary in Broadway’s Mary Poppins, was unable to attend the rescheduled event.
“The Gala will be even more important as the theatre has lost over $60,000 due to government shutdown Goodnight Moon cancellations, so we’re looking for really supportive turnout,” says Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director of Adventure Theatre MTC. “We hope that everyone who loves great theatre or who values training the next generation of performers will attend or at least make a donation to ATMTC if they cannot attend. And Liz Callaway is a wonderful performer! We couldn’t be more excited about Liz gracing the stage at the Bethesda Ballroom.”
