Earth Hour TONIGHT!

When the lights go out tonight between 8:30 and 9:30, don’t run to check your fuse boxes. Light some candles or enjoy time by an early Spring fire and know that you are doing your part for the environment… if only for an hour.

The World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour is TONIGHT in more than 2,000 cities. Tens of millions of people around the world will be turning out the lights and taking action on energy conservation and solutions to climate change. Can you imagine, in New York City, even Times Square will be observing the blackout!?

In DC, many city buildings and local establishments are participating, including Smithsonian Castle, City Hall, the Convention Center, National Cathedral, the Chinatown Arch, among dozens of others. And you can take advantage of some special celebrations! The Fairmont Hotel is offering a special organic cocktail menu tonight in honor of Earth Hour, or go by Chi Cha or Kitchen for a special Organic Cucumber mojito – $5 for each cocktail sold will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
