Drink the District Goes Red, White & Brew

On Saturday afternoon, Drink the District hosted its annual Red, White, and Brew event at The Navy Yard in SE Washington.  A combination of sun, drinks, and music made the event a raving success admist the heat and crowd.

There were over 50 beers, 100 wines, and 10 food trucks on the lawn as guests sampled it all — dsc_0644especially loving craft beer from small, independent breweries and red, white, and rosé wine from local vineyards.

The event was a true melting pot of all American geographies, as groups seamlessly meandered from wine bottle to beer keg, sipping on a unique beverage while submitting their names to win raffle tickets fordsc_0648 Caribbean cruises.  The audience sang along to the bands’ Gnarls Barkley or David Bowie covers as they sampled new favorite flavors.

American Pride was the theme of the day as it was all red, white & brew during playtime, too.  Dressed in patriotic top hats and Star Spangled Banner t-shirts, attendees played cornhole or beer pong.

That’s a great way to drink in the District.
