Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. DC’s Largest Resto Opens in Penn Quarter

Over 700 seats and there may still be a wait. Carmine‘s is always that crowded.

The legendary NYC family style Italian eatery opened today in DC’s Penn Quarter to much fanfare and freakishly high (nine inches!) Eggplant Parmigiana. Holding the title of DC’s largest restaurant, Carmine’s also boasts a wrap around bar, numerous private dining rooms, and a WiFi lounge.

For nostalgia with your gnocchi, check out the black and white photos featuring famous Italian American families. And save room to savor that smooth tiramisu… and chocolate covered cannolis for the road.
