DC Women Found Most Approachable Online

Meeting new people online is supposed to be easier than ever.  Maybe.  Digital creeper culture makes looking for online love a little less, well, lovely.  But if you just feel like flirting, then DC, you’re in luck!

A new study conducted by Badoo.com, a social networking site for meeting new people, recently ranked U.S. cities’ women on an index of “hard-to-get” — aka frigidity when approached to chatting online.

The results may surprise you.*  Women in LA and Houston were jointly the U.S.’s most selective when responding to men wanting to chat online.  Those witchy New York women ranked third, followed by bikini-clad Miami-ans. But DC darlings were actually twice as likely to respond to online flirting and chat requests — in fact, over twice as likely as those in LA, Houston, New York or Miami.

What?!

“Maybe Washington men know better than other American men the best way to start an online conversation with a woman,” suggests Louise Thompson, Director of PR for Badoo.  “Instead of trying to start a conversation simply by saying ‘hello,’” she says “a better way of breaking the ice can be by looking for a common interest, like music or movies. Plus, always be polite and friendly and call a woman by her real name, rather than something like ‘Babe’ or ‘Honey’.”

Political agreement might also be a good way not to get the brush-off.
