Two DC chefs were praised with James Beard awards during the annual James Beard Awards restaurant industry ceremony this week (5/6/19). The highly anticipated awards, presented to the best of the best across the country, are coveted honors as the accolades come with national attention.
Kwame Onwuachi, of Kith and Kin, was recognized as Rising Star Chef of the Year (Presented by S.Pellegrino® Sparkling Natural Mineral Water).
And Tom Cunanan, of Bad Saint, took home the award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic (D.C., DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA).
