According to Benjamin Franklin, “Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.” And DC Wine Week co-Founders Lisa Byrne and Vanessa French (above) just can’t seem to get enough happiness.
As partners in the pour, the duo toasted the opening of their 2nd annual DC Wine Week events at Sonoma on Capitol Hill Saturday night with an official opening party — uncorking good times and countless bottles.
The week long celebration is dedicated to enjoying wine, wine education and an opportunity to help support the area’s growing local wineries, wine shops, wine bars, restaurants and merchants… like Boxwood Winery
, a Middleburg favorite whose Executive Vice President Rachel Martin
(at right with Andrew Stover
), was on hand topping off glasses of its Trellis
offering Saturday night.
The week’s programs and parties provide about a daily dozen ways to
get wasted find happiness enjoying what Ernest Hemingway called “the most sophisticated thing in the world.”
