As the world waits on bated breath for its first motion picture premier, Les Misérables arrives at DC’s National Theater for a special holiday engagement, December 13 through December 30.

Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, this newly re-imagined tour of Les Misérables — they’re calling it the new 25th Anniversary — is bursting with talent, featuring impressive staging and set designs inspired by original paintings of the author himself.

Behind the scenes, British theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh, working alongside directors Laurence Connor and James Powell, helped bring this literary masterpiece to life on the stage.

Since its first production in 1986, Les Misérables has been seen by nearly 60 million people worldwide in 42 countries and in 21 languages, making it one of the world’s most popular musicals ever written. Washington, DC is the first city in the country to feature the stage version and the movie simultaneously.

Whether it’s your first Les Mis or fifth, this production is sure to knock you off your feet and keep your heart satisfied… until you run to see it again in theaters on Christmas Day!
