Last night, in the Ronald Reagan Trade Center building, there was a food fight. A big one – Iron Chef sized!
The DC Central Kitchen, to raise awareness and funding for its programs hosted its annual Food Fight. Chefs from most of the city’ s top restaurants came together for great food and fun… and the audience got to have some, too!
All around the atrium, booths from fantastic restaurants all over the city were set up to provide a tasting to those that came to see the fight. On stage, a few serious Chefs would duke it out in an attempt to take away the title of the reigning Queen of the Food Fight, Riz Lacoste – champion for two years in a row.
Several dishes, some stuffed judges, and over $1 million in fundraising later, the winner of the Food Fight was… Roberto Donna of Galileo- a new and very worthy winner. Yet the biggest winner of all was the DC Central Kitchen.
