Costumed canines took over the new Courtyard Bar at the Fairmont Washington, DC in advance of Halloween as the hotel’s Canine Ambassador, Georgie, hosted a HOWL-o-ween bash complete with themed cocktails and pooch-perfect prizes.

Cute and current-event themed outfits had dogs dressed to distraction as they enjoyed tricks and treats, including Fairmont’s fresh-baked dog biscuits served on a silver platter. Two-legged leash handlers also sipped and savored from the Courtyard Bar’s new menu of lighter bites.

But the costume contest was the highlight of the night! Pooches and friends dressed as Harry Potter and Addams Family characters, fire trucks, bees, and even Maryland’s escaped zebras were recognized with Paw-nerable Mentions. But the participants who placed won some seriously paw-some prizes!

Bar bites and cocktails for two in the Courtyard of Loggia went to fourth place finishers dressed as Stars Wars characters (we’re still wondering how that pup kept his R2D2 droid hat on his head)!

Saturday Brunch for two in Fairmont’s Juniper Restaurant was awarded to Zoe the Shiba Inu turned Dogecoin Dog (and human Jennifer) for a third place win.

In second place was Beatrix “Lady Gaga’s” posh Frenchie — and her dogwalker — prancing into a coveted Sunday Brunch for two in Juniper.

And it was Scruffy that took home top honors in the costume contest for a Wonder Bread loaf outfit, accompanied by human, Christina, the Baker. The older and mostly blind pup was recently adopted by Christina and will be cherishing the prize — an overnight stay for two humans and two canine companions at The Fairmont!

What a treat!
