Cupcake Wars’ Winner Gives Fare Well to H Street

H Street is faring pretty well.  And it’s about to get a Fare Well … of only the best kind.

Two-time champion of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Doron Petersan, announced today that the name of her bakery, bistro, and bar set to open in this still up-and-coming area of DC this summer will be named Fare Well (406 H Street NE).  Continuing with the vegan theme started at Sticky Fingers, Petersan will give it a “bigger and bolder take” with Fare Well’s expanded bread program, a grab-and-go lunch counter, bakery case, full bar program, and classic diner-style service and seating.

“Fare Well is a name that immediately spoke to the mission of the concept,” Petersan said in a released statement, “and, while we considered others, I kept coming back to it. It says so much about what we are trying to do here: live well, eat well, be well. It’s about turning the idea of living conscientiously to everything we do, from excellent service to thoughtful, well-crafted food. When you visit the new restaurant you will truly Fare Well in every sense of the term.”

She insists that Fare Well is “more than just an expansion of [the] original vision for Sticky Fingers…” thought the menu will feature  a few Sticky Fingers’ favorites — like sticky buns, Cowvin cookies, Little Devils, and cupcakes, alongside an augmentation of scones, danishes, croissants, and pies.  Also check out the bar, which will feature beer and wine on tap and a menu of cocktails created by W Hotel mixologist and Favorite Ice co-founder Joey Ambrose.

Fare Well will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with extended bar hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
