Cork Wine Bar & Market and Pizzeria Paradiso have partnered on a wine retail pop-up starting on October 1 and running every Thursday and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pizzeria Paradiso’s Spring Valley location at 4850 Massachusetts Avenue, NW.
Wine experts will be on hand to recommend and sell a special selection of different wines including individual bottles and four different themed 3-packs, which will be exclusive to the pop-up. Each week, a different theme will be highlighted with the first week focusing on “Women Winemakers” in honor of both restaurants’ participation in the inaugural Women’s Food Fest.
Individual wines vary from $15 to $45 per bottle and themed 3-packs are available including Perfect Weekday Wines ($45), Sparklers ($65), Celebratory Wines ($85), and European Tour ($70). Each 3-pack comes with detailed description cards so guests can learn about the wines, tasting notes, and the women winemakers behind each bottle.
Cork Market will also sell “cheesemonger” and “charcuterie for two” boxes ($20 each) as well as cheese baskets featuring samples of cheese which can be easily paired with the wines available for sale.
The “Women Winemakers” pop-up will feature wines from a number of vineyards with female vintners at the helm including: Elena Walch, Melanie Pfister, Heidi Schrock, Nicoletta Bocca, Elisabeta Foradori, Victoria Benavides, Louise Chereau, Mariasun Saenz de Samaniego, Mercedes Lopez de Heredia, Matilde Poggi, Maria Elena Jimenez & Marta Casas, Giovanna Morganti, and Marjorie Gallet.
