Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Cinco Celebration

Tuesday night’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration hosted by Dawoud Al-Khabbaz, Seyhan Duru, Omar Rahman, and and Freddie Wyatt was an unconventional Mexican fiesta spot, but it certainly didn’t lack in fiesta flair.

The first hour open bar might have served up more margaritas and cervezas than the border patrol bartenders could handle. But what always saves the day?! A big hat! Sherie Gabriel (above) sports a sexy sombrero. At left, Jessica Jacobs, Roby Penn, Windy Sheppard and I pause to pose, mid-convo, discussing the best Mexican eateries in the city. Then, at right, Andy Baldwin pokes his hat in.
