Capital City Goes Crescent: TruOrleans Opens on H Street

DC is seeing a Bayou explosion of late with cajun themed eateries opening up in every neighborhood. The latest – TruOrleans – crashes the levees onto H Street, bringing some French Quarter flavor to the city’s newest fun zone.

This Big Easy is just the resto you’d expect to find on Bourbon Street, offering imaginations of Mardi Gras floats (ok, maybe H Street streetcars) as you sip your Hurricane (three varieties!) or Abita beer (on tap!) from the wrought iron railed second floor patio.

The new Pontchartrain paradise is now open (400 H Street NE) to get your gator and gumbo for breakfast (soon) lunch and dinner.
