Britney Spears and The Circus

MUCHOS GRACIAS to Morgan Ortagus and Jonathan Weinberger for taking me to last night’s Britney Spears Circus concert. Funny that just two days after Ringling Bros. took down their BigTop, another Circus moved right in!

The opening act was none other than the Pussycat Dolls, who are just as entertaining as Britney, but without as wide a repertoire. Interestingly, they remade a version of the ‘Slumdog Millionaire Jai Ho’ song, which was wildly popular.

Britney seemed more reserved in the earlier part of the concert, perhaps saving her energy for some later dance numbers to include ‘Toxic’ and ‘Womanizer.’ The costumes were as sparkly and over the top as expected. The show on stage was even more mesmerizing. The audience could barely concentrate on dancing and singing along -we were all too busy trying to figure out how she and the magicians pulled off those magic tricks!

*Thanks for the comment correction! Until last week, I hadn’t seen Slumdog Millionaire, and it certainly sounded like ‘Joy Hope’ to me! Maybe just a joyful, hopeful song? I know all of us are happy to know the real title. Thanks!
