Bowlero Bowling Arcade Now Open in Tysons

A new multi-sensory adventure arcade in Tyson’s is proving … it’s all in the approach.

Bowlero opened its 7th Washington, DC area location late last month — the 30th in the state of Virginia — on the first floor of Tyson’s Galleria in a retail space that was formerly a Macy’s department store.

The bowling, gaming, upscale sports bar, and restaurant is a one-stop entertainment destination where bowling is just the beginning. With 36 lanes and more than 70 games for players of all ages, Bowlero is a spot for a fun afternoon with the family, a competitive group outing, or a unique destination for date night, birthday, or other celebration.

Guests may be struck by all of the lights and sound upon first entering, but it’s the hi-def video screens showing live sporting events and other entertainment above the bowling lanes that really capture the attention.

When not on the lanes or playing games, drinks and a signature menu of comfort food and Instagram-worthy treats are tempting to try. (Hey — If you can’t bowl a six-pack, maybe you can drink one?! Adult bowlers only of course.) And here’s a split: Order the 123 oz Dunk Tank cocktail and an 8 lb Behemoth Burger — both are meant to be shared.

PBA-certified league bowlers and others looking for group-friendly good times should definitely look into Bowlero for lane reservations and special nights, but even a couple can find fun here to spare. Two hours of daytime bowling runs about $100, with shoe rental about $5 per person, but backlight (nighttime) bowling and other theme nights are also coming soon.

Whether you’re lousy or lucky — or anywhere in between — Tysons’ Bowlero is open for action, so here’s to the perfect game!
