“The best fashion show is on the streets – always has been, always will be,” says Bill Cunningham in the documentary “Bill Cunningham New York,” a free screening of which jump started Bethesda Row’s annual three day fashion event Thursday night at the Landmark Theatre.
Cunningham, a legendary New York Times street photographer, is chronicled in the film as a quirky but loveable historian who pinpoints America’s need for fashion as “the armor that helps us survive the reality of everyday life.”
“It’s as true now as it ever was: He who seeks beauty will find it.”
