Vice President Joe Biden stopped in to shop at DC’s first Costco store as it opened today in Fort Lincoln, near the intersection of New York and South Dakota Avenues.
He might have been upset with his wife, Jill, as he claimed she wouldn’t lend him her membership card — he had no trouble getting one of his own — yet his cart collections tell us otherwise. Not only did he claim he wanted to “buy some jewelry,” but Biden also filled his basket with books for her Delaware Book Buddies charitable program.
When asked at the register if he found everything he needed, Biden laughed, “I did. And more!”
DC’s new Costco is a 154,000 square foot membership club that offers bulk groceries, a pharmacy, tires, wine liquor and other household goods.
