The Bethesda Theater is coming back to life!

This property on National Historic Register has, like so many other iconic properties of late, undergone a  multi-million dollar renovation to reopen as the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, opening Friday 068Bethesda-Theaterto feature the country’s top jazz and blues artists… as well as top pop, country and comedy.

Proprietor Rick Brown had fond memories of going to movies there when he was growing up the 1950′s, so he purchased the place on foreclosure a couple of years ago hoping to save it somehow (in recent years it has been the Bethesda Theatre Cafe and the Bethesda Cinema & Draft House).  More musical members of his family introduced him to some icons of the industry, and a 500 seat theatre concept was created.

Grammy Award Winner Irvin Mayfield and the New Orleans Orchestra opens the theatre on March 1, followed by the local jazz master Marcus Johnson on the 2nd.

Note: The Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club requires a $15 consumption minimum added on top of any ticket price.

*The Bethesda Jazz and Blues Supper Club is located at 7719 Wisconsin Ave, in Bethesda, Maryland
