Batala Washington teamed up with Joe Connell, Danny Villanueva, and Aubrey Adams of the National Symphony Orchestra for a free percussion workshop at the 930 Club on Saturday afternoon.
The workshop included numerous demonstrations of both groups signature rhythms and sounds, accompanied by explanations of the tools of their trades and how they are used.
With many young families in attendance, the workshop provided the crowd with a sort of “Percussion: 101” that may likely be an educational foundation for any of the crowd’s future noise makers.
