Bar Rouge Reopens

Kimpton’s Bar Rouge

Seeing red?? There’s a lounge resurrgence on the other side of those rose colored glasses, and it’s happening at the freshly reopened Bar Rouge

This newly remodeled lounge and wine bar in the Hotel Rouge (1315 16th Street NW) has a lot on tap – literally – pouring chardonnay, organic sauvignon blanc and zinfandel in one of the city’s first vineyard-to-keg presentations of the sort.

Bar Rouge also boasts a more extensive global wine list offered in three pour sizes (but always under $10) and noshes in the new American small plates trend ($4-12, $12-20 entree sized).

Step into dinner and drinks at Rouge, a noir graphic novel set in red and white.  Relax on the velvet banquettes surrounded by statues of Venus, and sip still.

DC nightlife is having a rouge-out.
