Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Creative cocktail was the ultimate theme of the night.  In attire and in every other way.

Last Saturday night at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, 11 of the city’s best cocktail creators (read: mixologists) took inspiration from the museum’s exhibited art to created the most artistic, or otherwise awesome (read: scrumptious) martini at an annual event dubbed Artini.

Proceeds from the sold out event — and each participating venue’s affiliated Artini introductions — supported Corcoran’s ArtReach programs, now in their 20th year.

This year Joe Ambrose took home the W to the W… Hotel, that is, winning Critic’s Choice. And perhaps it was meant to be that Art & Soul’s Ronald Flores would would come away with Fan Favorite.
