Arena Stage Wine Auction a Feast for the Palate, Eyes and Ears

Vinophiles celebrated wine and theater late last month as Arena Stage held its annual anticipated silent and live Wine Auction Gala.  The glittering fundraiser supported Arena Stage’s artistic and creative mission with a delicious buffet of wine, food, and live performance.

Helmed by Arena Stage trustees Beth Newburger SchwartzGene Samberg, and Judith N. Batty, the evening kicked off with a silent auction where guests outbid one another for elite and rare vintages of wine, elevated culinary experiences, and a popular opportunity to have a custom designed hat.

Following the silent auction and cocktail hour, a seated dinner delivered guests a feast for the palate, eyes, and ears.

Arena Stage programs impact over 10,000 students annually, including developing creative voices through the Arena Stage Musical Theater Academy. While guests dined on a sumptuous multiple course dinner, paired with wines donated by Total Wine & More, young performers serenaded attendees with a medley from Disney’s NewsiesTick, Tick…Boom!; and The Greatest Showman.

Following the student performances, a live auctioneer elevated the pace with rapid-fire bidding on live auction items ranging from rare vintages, to a three-night stay in a château in romantic Bordeaux, or a one-week stay in a four bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom private residence villa at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.

Whether there for the wine or to support the cause, patron enthusiasm made the auction and the evening a resounding triumph for Arena Stage. Bravo!
