What do Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Charles Darwin, and Beatrix Potter all have in common? They were all notebook users! And they would have all probably loved DC’s Appointed, a paper and desk product business.
Appointed sells environmentally-conscious elevated paper products — like notebooks, planners, calendars, and writing tools — to enhance productivity and creativity (journalers and to-do list makers, see famous notebook users above).
While Appointed has operated out of a large 10,000 square foot studio since 2015, the female and AAPI-founded DC-based business recently expanded to include a new extension and retail space at its flagship store now open in Ivy City.
Our favorite reason to stop into the studio is to visit Appointed’s one-of-a-kind “Notebook Bar” where patrons can create their own perfect notebook, complete with choosing the cover color, type of paper, and whether or not to personalize with a monogram. The custom creation will be assembled on-site and ready in minutes!
