And the RAMMY Goes To…

The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington held its annual RAMMY Awards Gala Sunday night, naming Mintwood Place Best New Restaurant, Fiola’s Fabio Trabocchi Chef of the Year, and C.F. Folks the best in Casual Restaurant.

“Just this past Spring, 50 new restaurants opened in DC… We really are in Bloom,” beamed RAMW President Kathy Hollinger, referencing the theme of this year’s annual Gala awards for the DC restaurant industry.

The night included a theatre-style seated ceremony — complete with Tom Sherwood offering the usual political jabs, awardees mostly keeping their acceptance speeches to a minimum, and only a few uncouth non-winners leaving the auditorium when they weren’t called in their category — which preceded an evening of dinner, dancing and celebration for more than 1,600 guests.
