An Era’s End

It’s the end of the year (and the decade!), so it’s natural to write of all the highlights and low blows which defined 2009. And what a year it has been! We were riveted with Twilight sagas, Jon & Kate’s divorce, Twitter finally taking off, Paranormal Activity, Lady Gaga, Tiger Woods, Cash for Clunkers, swine flu, the Salahis, Balloon Boy, Laura & Euna, Captain Sully, Bernie Madoff, and don’t forget that historic Inauguration which started it all…

But I haven’t met anyone yet who isn’t thrilled to see 2009 nixed – and ready to usher in 2010. Because let’s face it, 2009 sucked. The money dwindled, the jobs dried up, and way too many of our entertainment (and other) icons passed away.

So when we don our party hats and lift our champagne toast to the year that was, we’ll be moving forward with enthusiasm and purpose, but also saying a heartfelt goodbye to those ’09 has us leave behind.
