Pinkies Up! This Afternoon Tea in the Fairmont Hotel’s new Cherry Blossom Pop-Up Lounge is the safely sophisticated social outing we’ve been waiting for.
Think less about antique floral teacups and saucers and more about relaxed refinement (and refreshment!) in the Fairmont Hotel – Georgetown’s elegant 9th-floor private lounge, enhanced with subtle pink touches and blossoms in bloom.
Saturdays and Sundays in two small seatings at either 11:30 am or 2 pm, guests are welcomed to tea service now available through April 25th. In addition to a selection from seven loose leaf teas — the Kyoto Cherry Rose is especially divine! — Executive Jordi Gallardo and Executive Pastry Chef A.J. Thalakkat have collaborated on a menu of savory and sweet cherry delights.
Tea starts with a Sakura and Peach Blossom Gelée, made with pickled cherry blossoms and peach blossom sake, an amuse bouche of sorts before the individual tea pots and triple-tiered tea trays arrive.

Aguara Raspberry Chocolate Torte – Raspberry Cremeux, Aguara Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Brownie
Cassis Meringue Tart – Vanilla Sable Crust, Black Current Curd, Dehydrated Meringue
Elderflower and Strawberry Battenberg – Elderflower and Strawberry Pound Cake, Apricot Jam, Marzipan
